Rinse Wassenaar (1950) had been attached to the national Dutch Bird Ringing Centre (perhaps better known as: "Vogeltrekstation Arnhem Holland") from 1974 untill 2006. He had also been (untill August 2005) Manager of the Euring Data Bank, which pools ring recovery reports (birds found dead, retrapped, shot, etc.) from the 35 European national bird ringing schemes. The goal of the EDB (now in the UK) is to make information available to scientists, ornithologists, conservationists and other research workers from all over the world. At present, within the Central Services Department in Wageningen, he assists Ir. Mrs. Froukje RIENKS in PR work and communications activities.
