- 2001-present: Scientist at Center for Estuarine and Marine Ecology, NIOO-KNAW, Yerseke, The Netherlands. Started in the Workgroup Ecosystem Studies and since mid 2005 in the Workgroup Marine Microbiology.
- 1995-2001: Post-doc at Center for Estuarine and Marine Ecology, NIOO-KNAW, Yerseke, The Netherlands.
- 1994-1995: Associate scientist in the EU-funded project on ‘Fate of low molecular intermediates in anaerobic sediments’ at the Center for Limnology, NIOO-KNAW, Nieuwersluis, The Netherlands.
