Open Access

What is Open Acces?

Open Access (OA) to research results means that this material is digital, online, free of charge, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions.

What are the NIOO-ways of enabling Open Access?

Golden road (OA of the publisher's pdf)

1) Publish in a full open access journal and NIOO will pay the author fee (open Access Journals are journals like PloS-journals, BMC, request a OA permission first)
2) Publish in a (most of them)
Springer journal and the author fee will not be raised, because of our license deal
3) Publish in a hybrid journal (licensed, but you can buy OA with an author's fee) and you can - ask a refund if it is a
NWO
sponsored research, or - pay the author's fee from yur research budget

Green road (OA of your reviewed manuscript = self-archiving)

[4 Upload you post-print ( i.e. you final accepted peer reviewed manuscript, before layouting by the publisher, into our repository]
