Vidi-grant winner's research topic: Not in but on your DNA

Not in but on your DNA. Apparantly, you can also find characteristics there that can be inheritated from your parents. Koen Verhoeven, researcher at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW) is about to find out what kind of impact these characteristics have on plants in their natural habitat. He has been awarded an €800.000 Vidi-grant by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) to do so. Enough to hire his own team and to do five years of research.
