The Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO) is a top  research institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). At this moment the research comprises three locations. There is also a Central Management and Services department, for central services like Finances, Personnel and ICT.

Early 2011 the locations Nieuwersluis and Heteren will be merged and moved to a new building in Wageningen.
